The Peponi Safari

10 nights Across Kenya

Safari, unhurried.

A complete journey through Kenya's wildlife, culture and landscape. For everyone—whether you're a photographer or not.

PART 1: NAIROBI ARRIVAL & CULTURE

Nights 1-2

Welcome to Kenya Nairobi's Wildlife, Conservation & Culture

Arrive in Nairobi and settle into comfortable accommodation. Your first two days introduce you to Kenya beyond the wildlife reserve—to the people, conservation work, and culture that make safaris meaningful. What you'll experience:

Nairobi National Park Wildlife viewing within sight of the city skyline. A unique contrast: giraffe and lions with Nairobi's skyline behind them. This reserve shows how wildlife and urban life can coexist.

David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust Meet orphaned baby elephants being rehabilitated and prepared for release into the wild. See conservation in action. This visit matters— it's why we protect these landscapes.

Giraffe Centre Interact with endangered Rothschild giraffes. Feed them from your hand. Support conservation through this unique experience.

Nairobi Dining & Exploration Discover the city's best-known bars and restaurants. Meet locals. Understand Nairobi's rhythm and energy.

Rest & Acclimatization Settle into comfortable accommodation. Rest after travel. Prepare mentally for the weeks ahead.

This time is intentional. Meeting Shilen and Sahel, understanding Kenya's conservation challenges, and acclimatizing to the altitude—these aren't filler. They're the foundation for everything that follows.

Your 10-night journey

PART 2: MAASAI MARA

Nights 3-6

The Heart of Your Safari The Maasai Mara (4 Nights)

Four nights in the Maasai Mara, where most of your wildlife encounters will happen. Early morning and late afternoon game drives. Time to wait, watch and absorb the landscape. Meals at your lodge, with evenings filled with conversation and the sounds of the Mara.

Early Morning Game Drives

5:00 AM: Wake, coffee, head into the Mara as dawn breaks across the plains. Soft light, active wildlife, the landscape coming alive. Return 9:00 AM for breakfast and rest.

Midday at Lodge

9:00 AM–3:30 PM: Breakfast, rest, recharge. Time to review images, discuss the morning's wildlife, rest for the afternoon ahead. If interested: photography feedback and discussion. Add a scrumptious lunch and a couple of beers.

Afternoon Game Drive

4:00 PM: Head back into the Mara as light softens and wildlife becomes active again. Return 6:00 PM for a hot shower, aperitif by the bon-fire and evening dinner.

Wildlife

Wildlife is wild—sightings can never be guaranteed. But the Mara's exceptional density and your guides' expertise make encounters likely.
